How do I open an Encrypted Email?

To open an encrypted email please click the button marked "Open encrypted email". You will be taken to a page that says "Name has sent you a protected message".

There are three ways to verify your identity.

  • If you or your organisation uses Google you will be able sign in via Google. There will be a button called "Sign in with Google". If this is the first time using this service it will ask you to confirm you wish to share your email and name - this is to verify your details.
  • If you or your organisation uses Microsoft 365 services the email will may show as a normal email in your mailbox without any action from yourself. This because by your account using Microsoft 365 (The email encryption platform Roedean uses) means your identity has already been verified. You can also choose to sign in with a Microsoft account to verify your identity by clicking "Sign in with a work or school account" below the Microsoft logo if the option appears.
  • You can also click sign in with a One time passcode. This will send a 8 digit code to your email which you will need to enter onto the website to verify your identity.
