Password Requirements

Your password must meet these requirements:

Be at least 12 characters long
Contain characters from at least three of the following four categories:
- English uppercase characters (A - Z)
- English lowercase characters (a – z)
- Numbers (0 - 9)
- Special characters (For example: !, $, #, or %)
Your previous 24 passwords are not allowed
Not contain your name, the school name, or other common words (Such as “Brighton”)

For a secure password, you should use over 12 characters which is best made up from two or three none related words. You should also not use anything about yourself that is public knowledge such as children or pet names, dates of birth, or favourite sports teams which are susceptible to social engineering attacks.

Lockout Policy

If you enter your password incorrectly 5 times in a row then your account will be locked out automatically for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes you will be able to retry logging into your account. If required you can contact the IT Department who can reset this lockout straight away and assist with a password change if you have forgotten your password.
